Mike completed his M.A. in English with a concentration in comp/rhet studies at John Carroll University. He is also a member of the Modern Language Association, African American Literature & Culture Society, Langston Hughes Society, College English Association, Northeast Modern Language Association, and the Midwest Modern Language Association.
His favorite authors include George Orwell, J. M. Coetzee, Simon Armitage, B. S. Johnson, Gabriel Josipovici, Chinua Achebe, Samuel Beckett, Franz Kafka, Paulo Coelho, Gabriel Josipovici, John Steinbeck, Paul Laurence Dunbar, W. B. Yeats, Jacques Derrida, Paul de Man, Roland Barthes, Noam Chomsky, Chaim Potok, and Lois Lowry, Langston Hughes, Philip Larkin, Jean-Francois Lyotard, Theodor Adorno, Dante, Boccaccio, and Chaucer.
His other interests, in no particular order, include: drumming, computers, gaming, cooking, oinos, photography, and writing.
Married in 2008, Mike lives with his beautiful wife and two cats in Northeast Ohio.
