Mike Piero is a writer, teacher, and amateur photographer. As a young writer, he is "steering the craft" of his writing as novelist Ursula Le Guin calls it. He is constantly working to improve his form, style, and voice through his ventures into creative fiction and nonfiction writing. Mike is always working on a writing project of some kind, both creative and academic.
As a contributing writer on BrightHub.com, Mike occasionally writes how-to articles and product reviews. Aside from his expertise in technology and computer repair, he also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from The University of Akron as well as an Ohio teaching license.
Mike is currently working on his M. A. in English at John Carroll University. His research interests iinclude post-colonial studies, 20th-century American and British literature, the dystopian novel, and critical theory. He works for the university in the capacity of a graduate assistantship in the English department. He also works on the prose staff of The John Carroll Review. He is also currently designing the Fall 2010 English Department Course Guide.
Mike Piero is a member of the Modern Language Association, African American Literature & Culture Society, Langston HUghes Society, College English Association, and the Midwest Modern Language Association.
Married in the summer of 2008, Mike lives with his beautiful wife in Northeast Ohio.
